Welcome.

In the weeks leading up to New Year's Eve 2006-7, a fleet of messengers--costumed in pink and traveling by bicycle--will deliver a flood of love notes thoughout the city of Austin. Those who receive love are encouraged to pass it on by visiting PINK headquarters @ 237 2nd Street, or one of our satellite locations, to schedule a subsequent delivery to those they love--and on and on . . . becoming a city-wide experiment in saturation, communication, and contagion made manifest through mediated acts of love. All who send and receive (pink) love are invited to march with PINK in the First Night Austin Grand Processional down Congress Avenue & join in the fantastical late-night Bicycle Carnival on the First Avenue Bridge, co-created by Bikes Across Borders/Cycle Circus Austin. PINK: WE (DELIVER) LOVE (FOR) YOU (pass it on).

Pink Headquarters:
237 W. 2nd Street
(between Congress & Lavaca, across the street from Joe's Cafe)
Hours of Operation: Thu-Fri 4:30-9pm, Sat 11am-10pm, Sun 11-3

Satellite Locations, for your (pink) convenience:
Epoch Coffee Shop (north), Clementine Cafe (east), Ruta Maya (south), Mozart's Cafe (west)

Thanks so much for all the time and effort such an event must require.

I trust good will be returned to you one hundred fold for such kindness.

I will be by this evening to leave my messages for those in my life that I love intensely and also, for those people in my life that are full of hardness and hate-for their lack of love spurs me to leave more love in my path.

Much gratitude,

Renee

It was such a treat to join the pinks in the first night parade.... As a new group of friends with and without disabilities here in Austin we were seeking a way to connect with the Austin community by parading in First Night. We felt right at home galumphing along with the pink crew . We sported paper bag hats, rode by pedicab and wheelchair, made others blink in the toss of confetti and chortled "Feliz Ano Nuevo!"

We're still picking the confetti out of our hair with smiles and gratitude.

Love!
